Wanted gold robber arrested in Laos

A 60-year-old Thai man has been arrested in Laos and was being sent back to Khon Kaen to face a charge of robbing a gold shop of 437 baht-weight gold worth about 9.5 million baht in July. Pol Maj Gen Yanyong Wecha-osoth, deputy chief of Provincial Police Region 4, said on Monday that Ruangsak Phanthong, of Udon Thani province, was detained in Laos on Sunday. Lao authorities were handing him over to Khon Kaen police.
