Study reveals election weaknesses

The new election system should be revamped to address shortcomings evident during the March 24 general election, according to Thammasat University vice rector Prinya Thaewanarumitkul. Asst Prof Prinya said the problem lies with the mixed-member proportional (MMP) representation system in which ballots cast for constituency candidates are also used to calculate party-list seats.
