Gunman kills Pattaya taxi-motorsai driver

CHON BURI: A motorcycle taxi driver was killed by a gunman riding pillon on another motorcycle in Pattaya on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Prathum Sa-ardnak, 47, who worked from a queue at Bali Hai Bay in South Pattaya, was shot in the head about 1.30pm by a man with a handgun, in soi 17 at Moo 10 in tambon Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district.

Two more soldiers found infected

The government reported on Tuesday that two more soldiers who returned last week from a military exercise in the United States have tested positive for coronavirus disease. The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration announcement said both men, aged 22 and 25 years, had been in state quarantine since their arrival back from Hawaii on July 22.

Man dies in motorcycle crash

SONGKHLA: A factory worker was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a power pole in Hat Yai district on Tuesday morning, police said. The accident was reported about 7am on Hat Yai-Rattaphum road near Moo 5 village in tambon Khuan Lang, Pol Sub-Lt Chanon Srisuwan, of Hat Yai police station, said.

Vorayuth 'had drugs in blood'

Three activists claimed they have evidence to prove that Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya had illicit chemical substances, including cocaine, in his system during his Sept 3, 2012, fatal hit-and-run. Veera Somkwamkid, secretary-general of the People's Network Against Corruption; Anon Nampa, a human rights activist lawyer; and Taejing Siripanich, secretary-general of the Don't Drive Drunk Foundation, posted on their Facebook pages that the evidence was never included in the police investigation file.
