Public doubts Future Forward's MP bribery claim

A slim majority of people doubt a claim by the Future Forward Party (FFP) that 13 of its MPs were offered money in exchange for supporting Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha as prime minister, and a large majority would like the party to show evidence of the attempted bribery, according to a survey by the National Institute of Development Administration.

2.2 million speed pills, 11kg crystal meth seized after chase

Reserve Senators Stacked With Junta Favourites, Unsurprisingly

BANGKOK — Conservatives and individuals with prior ties to the junta dominate a list of reserve senators released Tuesday. The 50 reserve senators, publicized in the Royal Gazette, include Election Commission sec-gen Jarungvith Phumma, foreign minister Don Pramudwinai, former deputy governor of Bangkok Pol. Lt. Gen. Amnuay Nimmano, and former member of the junta-appointed National Legislative Assembly Prapan Koonme.

Ex-cop involved in huge illegal weapons caches: police

A former policeman in Prachuap Khiri Khan province is behind huge caches of weapons found recently in the northeastern provinces of Si Sa Ket and Surin, and the weapons were similar to those used during red-shirt demonstrations, a deputy national police chief said.

German tourist found dead in Ao Nang hotel room

KRABI: A 40-year-old German tourist was found dead in a room at a luxury hotel in Ao Nang district of this southern province with a plastic bag covering his head and tied around his neck. The tourist was found dead on the bed in a room on the sixth floor of the luxury hotel on Tuesday afternoon, said Pol Capt Sarawut Kittiruangrayab, deputy investigation chief at Ao Nang police station.

6 Senate Selection Committee Members Now Senators Themselves

State bus firm to link with RTP database to lift safety

Transport Co, the operator of inter-provincial bus services, plans to link its information technology system to the police's database to improve safety for its passengers. Lt Gen Surapol Tapananont, chairman of Transport Co, said the state-run company is coordinating with the Royal Thai Police (RTP) to develop a system to help it run background checks on passengers and keep criminals off the buses.
