The four victims _ Thaworn Suwanchote, 35, his wife Thassana Thumporn, 25, Suthas Somroob, 38, and Somchai Ruenrom, 30 _ were in a hut near Ban Krong Pinang market on Highway 410 (Yala-Betong) in tambon Krong Pinang about 1am when seven armed men stormed the hut and tied them up.

Hailstorm prompts roof tile handouts

Officials in Phayao and Lampang provinces are distributing roof tiles to villagers whose houses were damaged in a hailstorm on Sunday night. Sanan Yamongkol, president of Phu Sang tambon administration organisation, said villagers in his locality need about 80,000 new roof tiles to replace damaged ones.
