May exports down 5.8% on trade war, baht

Exports in May fell 5.8% year-on-year to US$21 billion on the US-China trade war, economic slowdown and strong baht, bringing the decline over the first five months of this year to 2.7% year-on-year. In May, imports dropped 0.64% to $20.8 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $181.5 million, according to the Commerce Ministry, which released the figures on Friday.
