Ex-foreign minister gets suspended jail term in Thaksin passport case

The Supreme Court has upheld the two-year prison term given to former foreign minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul for reissuing a passport to fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, then suspended the sentence. The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions issued its ruling on Thursday.
