Applying for a new British passport

A new British passport these days is issued in Britain, but must be applied for in Bangkok. You have to book an appointment by email (BangkokHMPO@vfshelpline.com) at the Trendy Office Building on Sukhumvit Soi 13.

Make sure you have all your documents, forms and photos ready before your appointment. Full instructions and forms can be found here: http://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports/y/thailand/renewing_new/adult.

If you're flying down to Don Mueang, a taxi from the airport should take an hour or so, and cost about 350 baht.

The appointment shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes, if everything is in order.

According to the blurb, your application should take 4 weeks from when it’s received by Her Majesty’s Passport Office in the UK, and 6-10 weeks before it arrives back in Bangkok, where you must arrange for it to be collected - they don't send it by mail or courier.
