Loi Krathong

Loi Krathong is celebrated all over Thailand, couples take their floats to any water and set them adrift. Legend says that the longer the two floats stay together, then the longer the couple will stay together. We visited Nong Prajak lake in the centre of Udon to join in the festivities.

We set off with our floats already prepared.

Once launched, they stayed together for a while.

Hot-air balloons are also a major part of the festival.

Away it goes!

We spotted a few ghosts wandering about.

Many youngsters were also enjoying the fun.
